$50K - $75K Annually (DOE) Manufacturing Experienced Preferred

We are an industry leading manufacturer of aerospace/spaceflight and hi-tech machined components seeking a full time Cost Accountant to support our Controller with the following primary duties:

Maintain proper inventory valuation and costing
Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures primarily relating to inventory and costing
Generate monthly KPI reporting around inventory and costing
Assist with the budget development and tracking thoughout the year
Assist with capital expenditure reporting and variance analysis
Maintain fixed asset ledger including depreciation/amortization entries
Assist in preparation of financial statement and supporting schedules
Prepare monthly account reconciliations
Prepare monthly profit sharing and commission reports
Support annual audit process working closely with the audit team in a number of areas
Assist with daily/weekly cash management
Manage document control and policy/procedures for Accounting and HR departments
Ad Hoc reporting/projects
Provide backup for accounting staff in a number of daily/weekly functions including hourly and salary payroll

Bachelors or higher degree with an accounting or finance emphasis
3+ years accounting experience; CPA, CMA or MBA a plus, but not required
Strong understanding of accounting theory and knowledge of GAAP
Experience with cost accounting required
Knowledge of budget development, projections and variance analysis
Experience with GL, JE preparation, monthly and annual close processes
Knowledge of fixed asset accounting, depreciation/amortization calculations
Experience with accounting software & ERP systems
Proficiency in Quickbooks and Microsoft Office software including Word, Outlook, and Excel (including vlookup, pivot tables, etc.)
Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects is a must
Highly detailed oriented and organized in work
