Ascentec Engineering, the industry leader in tooling and fixturing to support the PCBA electronics industry, is seeking an candidate with, or working to obtain, a Bachelors in Engineering, who can  provide hands on design for manufacturing support, while driving process improvements, decreasing production lead time and driving quality improvements. A successful candidate will excel in problem solving, process improvement, and actively contribute to the growth and success of the division.



JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:  To include but not limited to the following:

·         Hands on use of AutoCAD and SolidWorks to develop prints and designs for production

Comprehend engineering notes and communicate with internal and external customers as needed to accurately conceptualize and complete designs
Visualize a concept from 2D to 3D
·         Evaluating design processes, and design for manufacturability, to improve and maximize throughput and quality

·         Proactively identify problem areas and organize support with root cause analysis and process improvement that supports a lean environment

·         Research and recommend software upgrades, automation opportunities, and process improvements

·         Ability to implement process improvement and corrective actions

Create and complete accurate drawings for custom tools and fixtures, under tight time constraints
Ensure timely output of drawings for customer approval.
Work directly with customers to review, update, and approve designs and support the production group as each tool is made
Work with the Customer and Sales Teams to develop a quotable, manufacturable solution to the customer’s request

·         Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, or in Junior or Senior year

·         Must have 2+ years experience designing solutions in CAD, AutoCAD preferred

·         Knowledge with SolidWorks or MasterCAM a PLUS

·         Familiar with manufacturing, experience with CNC machines a PLUS

·         Engineering experience in extracurricular technical projects

·         Experience with project management and continuous improvement methodologies

·         Ability to read customer drawings, and knowledgeable in GD&T

·         Excellent skills in interpersonal relationships, communication and teamwork

·         Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to speak and communicate effectively with both Senior Management and Production

·         Work independently and possess a high level of self-motivation and initiative
