Press Fit Top Dies

Top Dies are machined to precisely mate with press fit parts and press these parts into the PCB without damaging them. Top Dies provide an interface between the ram, the component, and the board. Without a top die the component pins may buckle or pull out of the part instead of pressing into the PCB.

Top Dies are made from many materials including aluminum and tool steel, and in many cases they are heat treated to increase hardness and maximize longevity. They are available for both vertical and horizontal style connectors, for pressing cages, and for light pipe insertion.
